It's really good! Based on how massive it is, I was expecting it to be a bit of a slog that you get through because people more learned and wiser tell you it's good, but it is indeed very good. She's an immersive writer who does an impressive job writing in a way that reads easily without feeling anachronistic. It's a very "real" story if that makes sense. Kristin is neither a particularly villainous character nor a particularly heroic one.
