The jewel smithing magic was very cool, how she used the properties of the gems to influence her magic. And Rane's illusions magic was very cool too. The little golem Grimney was the cutest little thing ever, was honestly one of my favourite parts of the book. I loved how much they both loved him. Such a fun read with excellent characters and beautiful magic and worldbuilidng.

I absolutely loved this! It was so good! It had a real classic fairytale, folk tale kind of vibe which I really enjoyed. The authors note said that one of her favourite stories growing up was Howls Moving Castle and I definitely see that. Both Saphira and Rane were wonderful. I loved them both so much, and their relationship was so lovely. Felt very natural which was nice. The magic in this story was really cool too
