Well some of the military stuff was quite interesting, not as expansive as I first thought. Learning about the gods now and they really did just copy and paste from all other areas for their gods with very few unique to the Romans. Not too shabby

Well I only have one section left in the book and it just so happens to be the largest one. This has certainly been an interesting read so far. Very much lives up to the “dictionary of civilization” but still quite informative.

So we have finished the religious section of the book and I was a little surprised that the romans actually “tactically acquired” most of their gods from other religions. Wasn’t as structured or consistent as the Greeks but perhaps this book just didn’t go into too much detail.

Finished the section regarding some of the most famous peoples of Rome, granted we didn’t go too in depth on them but the general gist is that they’re remembered mostly for social reforms and construction projects for themselves or the people… and lost of assassinations, like a shit ton, GOT got nothing on this god damn

Very much so a dictionary with not too much detail but still little tid bits here and there so this will be a slower read but one I am sure to learn quite a bit from. For the glory of Rome
