I also like the other stories. I liked the desert and the muted master. I loved the strangers to friendships to enemies and her clearly softening and growing into her emotions.

I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this series. I wasn’t sure about the characters, or the order of the books, or really anything about it. However, this book truly is fantastic. In the pirate lord, I loved the setting and the introduction to the story and the characters. I thought it was really good. I like the fact that the author eludes to things smelling. It really puts you there. The slaves, sewers, rats.
