Eileen Dove was the author of one of the most well-known Irish poems ever (from what i’ve gathered) and had almost nothing written about her until before this book??? She the sister of Daniel O’Connell, who earned himself a huge monument in the middle of Dublin’s city center and had a bridge named after him, but no homage was payed for the writer of the caoineadh airt uí laoghaire

Love so many things about this book… first non-fiction that has actually stuck with me. Motherhood being humanized!!
