the bonus manga have really been doing some heavy lifting in terms of character building so i hope that they continue!!! i love louis so much, i just know that william leaves him out of the dangerous plans bc he wants to protect him the most and i AGREE. hope we get to see more of him soon

william consulting people on how to commit crimes vs sherlock consulting people on how to solve them is fantastic. also, based on his actions i’m this chapter, i’m curious to see how much of a sense of justice sherlock really has. i’m thinking he’s pretty grey with his morals but just LOVES solving mysteries so that’s why he helps cops. the passion is for deduction, not for doing the “right” thing

oh WOW this is an incredible set up!!!!! i really wasn’t sure how sherlock was going to function in the story but william wanting to use him as the “main character” in this crime story he’s creating to spread the word about the corruption and sow seeds of discontent between classes is BRILLIANT. he just has to make sure sherlock can solve the crimes without peeking behind the curtain

it’s gotta be intentional that in both versions, special attention was made to show us william’s handkerchief flying out of enders’ jacket and into the sea as he died. if it had fallen onto the deck instead of into the water, sherlock surely would’ve found it since he says that he searched the entire ship. i wonder how far a tiny bit of luck will go in keeping william from getting caught from here on out

ooooooo okay i think i like both versions of enders’ death!! i loved the predator becoming prey aspect of the anime version, but i also love how enders’ final words and act of suicide furthered the idea of “us vs them” that the moriartys were trying to facilitate through this scheme. his words could stoke the fires of discontent and distrust on BOTH sides

LOVE that the text bubble of enders’ disgustingly classist speech is covering up the commoner’s face!! it’s interesting that (unless it happens later on) the commoner was just a random passenger in the manga rather than a piece of shit that the moriartys paid off and then used as a sacrifice. i guess they’re just okay with letting an innocent commoner die in service of their goal

“just look at what you’ve done to me” as he’s looking down at the body of the MAN HE JUST MURDERED. i do hope the villains of the week maybe start to have a bit more nuance to them as we continue on cause so far they do read pretty campy and ridiculous

i LOVE this dynamic already holy shit. two geniuses, but one is more physical and artistic and the other is more cognitive and mathematic. neither can back away from a good logic problem, and they both have to look as slutty as possible while solving it. a match made in hell

the slow reveal of sherlock’s face to both us and william is SO gay oh my god. i get that they’re famous rivals and that’s probably why it had to be so dramatic, but what a happy “coincidence” that the framing happens to be perfectly suited for the introduction of a love interest as well…..i feel like these types of “coincidences” are gonna show up CONSTANTLY now and i can’t wait
