I'm stymied. James's writing is so hard to understand that reading this book is a chore. That's not what I was looking for. If anyone has any tips for reading this please share.

I can't read this book without constantly editing it. Why did James use so many parentheticals and dependent clauses?! Did he get paid by the word? 🤔 Someone needed to tell him about Strunk & White.

I'm finally connecting with this book. James's writing style is a challenge but if there's a story and characters, I can do it.
