I read numerous books at a time. It never ceases to amuse me when ideas in the books I read are eerily similar. I just finished The King Beyond the Gate by David Gemmell which had Joinings, which are man-beast hybrids. I am currently reading The Devils by Joe Abercrombie and the main characters are fighting beastmen, bi-pedal monsters.
