It has taken almost a year for me to revisit this collection of stories; more so, The Kreutzer Sonata and Family Happiness wounded me beyond repair. I am ready for the salt again. The wounds always seem to reopen as winter approaches.
Also, a month after reading the Kreutzer Sonata, I had the privilege of experiencing the piece live, accompanied by Rita Dove reading her Sonata Mulattica. :,)

Prior to the live performance, I had the privilege of viewing the beautiful artifacts that The Beethoven Museum curated to tell the story of The Kreutzer Sonata. While both experiences were beautiful, I think they caused me to feel a bit overfed and thus, prompted the cessation of reading, for the time being.
