scrupulously gratuitous freshly. these words add the the conflicting emotions of this story, as you feel bad for the victims and family, while still having compassion for the criminal and the horror they are about to face.

Currently in this stage of the book, Sister Hellen is writing back and forth with Patrick Sonnier. As she writes him she starts to view him as a human being, but still can't connect the gruesome crimes he's committed to the man she's writing. This blocks her from truly seeing and helping him.

This author is credible since she witnessed this story first hand. I do think that her religion can impact her beliefs and how she interprets this mans story though.

I like this book because it dives into the circumstances of death row.
