I want to give this 4 stars because of the most joltingly sudden cutoff of an ending ever, but the book was great until then. (Maybe I'm just socialized to need that drawn-out heroic struggle to have closure to a journey. 🤷‍♀️)

Anyways, Louise is a good protagonist, the atmosphere was well developed, and I enjoyed the complexity of the supporting characters. I'll be going on to #2 in the series for sure.
