Sometimes Cyrus feels so self-insert I fear my eyes will roll out their sockets

Chapter about his dad’s work life and mentality about taking it day to day 👍

I just got through a chapter where 28 year old Cyrus ponders the ethics of being able to find the silver lining in life and other epiphanies that one would ponder as a teenager after finding out America lies that concluded in my groaning out loud

The constant pop culture references is taking me out of my enjoyment of reading this book. I think it shines in its more heartfelt somber moments such as the background chapters on Cyrus’ parents. Do we really need three famous drummers named? Am I supposed to clap because Death Grips was mentioned?
