Put on some acoustic Hozier lightly in the background as I read tonight, pondering how he was surely influenced by Heaney in his earthy lyricism. Then I read a poem (The Singer’s House) which I’m pretty sure Hozier has indirectly referenced by pondering the sounds of Irish place names in Butchered Tongue just like Heaney does here. Feeling so literarily transformed right now.

Just got my first book from the LIBRARY with my new LIBRARY CARD!!!!!!!! What a poem ‘Digging’ is.
