Freedom Summer is a non-fiction book about what was happening in the summer of 1964. The main goal of the book is to educate the reader about what, why, and how things were happening.

The goal of the author is to highlight the history of the summer of 1964. He wants to show how America was affected by this major event.

It started with a story about how a white man shot a black man. It didn't tell the reason why, but it told that he got away with it. It caught my attention because it's crazy to think about getting away with murder, because the person you killed was black.

I chose Freedom Summer, and I chose it because you never get to hear about these things in depth unless you learn them on your own.
