Personally, I think stories are better when given context. Otherwise, I have no reason to care about these characters or their relationships. There are no stakes because I’ve been given no information just sitcom banter.

There’s moments of good writing, particularly in Viola’s sections, but whenever it switches to Fox’s perspective, I am immediately removed from the story. The writing style switches drastically depending on the perspective and Fox’s section are juvenile. Way too YA for my tastes. I think sticking to Violas perspective would have helped the tone and narrative a lot more.
