Feeling like this book is actually an adultery story that also features a man-eating shark. So much time on describing Brody's wife's attempt at infidelity. Getting real close to DNF.

Found a body and besides basic physical anatomy, the most detailed part of the description is her breast.

Oh geez. Queer slur already. It was published in 1974.

I am absolutely pro-shark, and I heard Peter Benchley wishes he never wrote this book out of regret for what it's done to shark populations around the world. We'll see if the book is better than the movie!
