It’s interesting to see that audiences have always been possessive of and weird about their favorite celebrities. Gross, but interesting. Fame really is a golden cage.

I find the development of the hollywood system so fascinating and incredibly sleazy. Elizabeth Taylor’s success at this point (early 1950s) seems to have happened both because of and in spite of that system. Odd and enthralling.
