At first I didn’t like that we were taking a break from following Aelin given the cliff hanger of the last book, but I think the depth of character SJM is giving Chaol is really good. As he’s fighting his own self hatred and hoping to be healed I really feel the emotion from the book and truly feel so sad for him as he works through this.
