I'm 250 pages in and feels like I've barely made a dent. McCullough is very detailed oriented. Since there was no other forms of communication back in the 1700s everyone wrote letters. We read every correspondence with Abigail and members of congress. Thanks to these letters we learn every intimate detail of their state of mind. Narrative is dry. I liken this book to eating broccoli. It's good for you, but . . .
