"It's a bad habit… not letting people help. It comes right after my first & worst habit of safely assuming they won't notice that I need help in the first place, or, even if they do, that they won't offer it or will offer it but not actually mean it… I've found it's best to function as independently from others as possible, so as not to be disappointed or taken by surprise by someone else's lack of care for you."
