If the protagonist has only been exposed to one language throughout their life, they should theoretically have no complications with speaking grammatically. We learn, grammar purely by hearing it and innately learning the rules as we articulate words that we hear. It’s possible some grammar rules could adjust over the course of however many years the girls were quarantined. But the mc shouldn’t have to relearn.
