Started listening to the Simon Prebble narrated audiobook, which is happily on YouTube, as the waitlist at my library is extraordinarily long, unsurprisingly. So far, it is excellent. Scrooges Bah Humbug, stake of holly thru the heart speech is as appalling and darkly comic as ever. I really feel for poor Bob Cratchet, trying to warm himself by his candle once his one coal fire goes out.

I put the Jim Dale narration of A Christmas Carol on hold at my library in mid-December. It finally got to me now. I wasn't sure about listening to it in February, but we're having very wintery weather, so it still seemed appropriate. I'd forgotten how excellent the writing was. It's been at least a decade since I last read the book. Dickens' captures Scrooge's character immediately.
