LYNN PAINTER THE WOMAN YOU ARE!! I loved this book so much!! Dani’s character developed so much during this book & I felt almost everything she did. I love how she included an anxious character as it really resonates with people who also suffer from anxiety! Alec’s character was also so well written & I loved how hockey (& Dani) mad he was! They are genuinely the sweetest book-couple freaking in the world ever!

Dani and Alex got back together in that very hospital bed just before the nurse, Dani’s Grampa, mum and Alec’s parents walked in on that. It was sooo cute! The Southview Packers finally won their big tournament and a mural of them was painted and it made even Mick Boche cry. Dani got into Harvard as well! Dani and Alec have re-started their letter writing tradition as a happy couple and start uni in the fall!!!

Dani skipped the X-game and watched it with her Grampa after he helped her with a panic attack. Her dad told her he threw out all the letters that Alec had still been sending her. Then she saw him down on the ice because of Ben and she made her Grampa go to give Alec chocolate and a sort of speech at the hospital. She then came in and told him everything about why she broke up with him and that she still loves him

Dani took Alec on their old walk route to get the hockey game off his mind for a bit and there was lots of tension!! Southview went and won the hockey league and Dani confessed her love to Alec. They’re now official!!! She took him to their old childhood spot but Ben showed up and provoked Alec, who punched him. Legalities were threatened but Dani has gone to speak to Ben the next morning about the police.

Dani and Alex went on a fake date to the mall after the PNA the night before. They both secretly like each other but they don’t know that yet. She almost fell and he caught her but it hurt his shoulder so she demanded she put a patch on it for him which turned awkward. They went to a house party next and had a great time but she didn’t tell him she was considering moving to live with her dad.

Alex dropped Dani home and saw Ben Worthington sat on her porch. He decided to kiss her because he gossiped and it would spread the rumour of their dating. (His real reason was because he actually liked her and also wanted to make Ben jealous) Her Grampa came out and called him in to chat about their relationship as he saw them. He told him to care for her. He picked her up the next morning and it was a big game day

Alec and Dani have started their fake relationship at school now. People are starting to believe it too! Dani was told about the mandatory team dinners that happened every Saturday on a roter. Alec drove her there and they had a decent time except for when Alec’s dad almost collapsed in pain due to the T-boning accident he got into a while ago.

Alec has offered Dani the option to fake date to squash the rumours being spread about him being “a loose cannon”. Dani was wary at first as she didn’t want people to turn on her as it had happened many times in previous schools. She eventually agreed but on the terms that she chose when it ended, even if it was after the “deadline”. Ben, an old “friend” has come back and him and Alex are arguing again

Dani sits in the library at lunch & Cassie & Alec & his group join her occasionally. She had to do a speech in class and almost had a panic attack but Alec stepped in and went first. Cassie wants her to be Co-manager of the hockey team and later on, while she was waiting for Alec, she got a FaceTime from her dad asking her to live with him. She cried and Alec comforted her and now his coach thinks they’re dating!!
