Dor’s thoughts are really young, which normally would make sense for him as a 16 year old character, but the problem is that it’s supposed to have been four years since the last book, and 12 year old Dor’s characterization in the last book was noticeably more mature than the Dor of this book. It just doesn’t feel like good writing.
