Nothing about the timeline makes sense re Mungaano. How did the Africans get money to not only go to space but succeed? It has to be the time travel aspect. Wtf is going on on earth? Is there only America? Nothing else has been mentioned. So poorly done. The worldbuilding, the politics, the culture... repeating "community" doesn't make up for it.

Stacia: always being undermined by a man, but also showing poor leadership qualities (the investigation)
Amachi: who is she? What is her role/job? I thiught she was like 18 but she must be at least 30

Absolutely awful, my god. Trying not to dnf but I'm definitely not reading the sequel.
