I am too much of a philistine for this. It's great prose poetry, but the line breaks are throwing me off. The enjambments make everything feel more stilted rather than smooth and I can't tell if the author is doing it on purpose or not.

"I'm not trying to capture light. I'm listening for darkness / shutting like an eye." <- I really like this! It gives the sense that idk. When light enters your eye to convey information and the eyelid blinks down the light is "captured" but the speaker doesn't want to do that, it's a side effect of darkness falling. Also, what sound does darkness make? I feel it would be a hushing, but like wind through grass.
