Continuing to transliterate names in the New Testament does readers a disservice. Only after reading this translation, where names are kept as written, have I realized not only do “Judas” and “Jude” share the exact same name (Youdas) but that name is transliterated as “Judah” in the OT.

When the gentile followers were told by others to follow the whole Mosaic code, the Commissioners corrected this and told them to “stay away from demon-idol pollutions and from sexual inferiority and from what is strangled and from blood. (Acts 15:20b)” What are the hearts of these commands? What would they look like today?
