Only 42 pages in and I've already learned so much incredible NYC history that I knew nothing of. Seeing all that went into the planning of the museum from the moment Albert S. Bickmore, the founder, had the idea of establishing a natural history museum in NYC in 1861, till the long-awaited opening in 1877 is incredible.
