I keep going back and forth on whether I like this or not. There's a lot of flaws and stupid shit that is pulling me out of the story, and then there'll be a scene like the doppleganger Phillips, and I get sucked back in.

Lampshading the 'love at first sight' thing is actually kind of fucked up considering Aurora and Philip's meeting in the woods is maybe THE most romantic moment in all of Disney history. It was an artistic depiction of love at first sight within the context of a fairy tale; it felt magical, innocent, and pure. Ruining that moment to make a cynical dig misses the point of the art and character writing in that scene.

Okay, it's growing on me, let's see where this is going.

I love listening to once upon a dream in French, as sleeping beauty is a French fairy tale. It's nice to see tidbits like douce dame jolie making an appearance.
