I love learning about medieval English history, but I don't like the author. She keeps saying that phrase, don't judge historical figures by modern standards when it comes to issues like antisemitism, and I just don't agree with that. When it comes to history, I can hold admiration and disdain at the same time, I'm a complex human being just like the ones she's writing about. Bet she's a royalist.
