I know I do this every time I read a classic and it’s just how people talked in the 19th century but I just can’t hold it back any longer. Crewe and Carrisford were totally gay. There’s only so many times and ways you can describe two intimate male friends who loved each other before I make it gay.

Sara’s obsession with princesses is understandable but I cannot help, as a born and raised American, cringing at her dislike of revolutionaries.

As someone who has also romanticized an attic bedroom, Sara’s daydreams made me miss my attic bedroom. I guess she really is a magical storyteller.
