I’ve got this series on my tbr, is it worth starting from the beginning?

That is a bit of a difficult question because even though the title says this is Pendergast- The Beginning - it is really the 23rd book in the series. I'm only just starting on this book right now, but I'm assuming that we get to go back in time again and learn more about Agent Pendergast. (We learned bits and pieces of his past through various books)
If you have not started this series, I would definitely recommend it. It has a crazy combination of odd mysteries, FBI police procedurals, and supernatural woo-woo - along with non stop action with quirky characters that just somehow works. Seriously. It's a crazy combo, but I'm hooked.
