And THIS is when the characters first figure out what’s really going on. No offense, but I knew and I’m sure most intelligent readers would have figured this out around 150 pages ago, so it’s not that big a reveal as it is a “finally!” moment. 😑

First time I think I've ever READ about the good-cop-bad-cop routine being used. You wouldn't think it, since this is quite a common thing in terms of a trope, but I haven't seen it in books all that often.
