trying tor was this in spanish is a truly humbling experience. thank god we live in the future so i’ve been reading one paragraph at a time then using google translate to make sure i understood it (which usually i did not). despite this i am excited to read this as i just finished chapter 1 and there were already some really beautiful passages

this is so hard to get through but very rewarding.
i’ve finally got my system in place where i turn the page, take a picture of it with google translate, read a paragraph in a spanish, double check it with the translated version. don’t think ill finish by the new year though since it just took me 2 hours to read 15 pages lol

Idk if you're an e-reader, but I've found that the tap-and-hold Spanish-English dictionary on my kindle lets me move through books that are def above my level naturally. Of course it can become a crutch, and it can't really help with grammar constructions, but I almost exclusively read Spanish on my kindle now.

yeah i’ve been reading on my kindle and it helps some with individual words but the problem is usually that i don’t know the meaning of the sentence itself in context
