this is so hard to get through but very rewarding.
i’ve finally got my system in place where i turn the page, take a picture of it with google translate, read a paragraph in a spanish, double check it with the translated version. don’t think ill finish by the new year though since it just took me 2 hours to read 15 pages lol

trying tor was this in spanish is a truly humbling experience. thank god we live in the future so i’ve been reading one paragraph at a time then using google translate to make sure i understood it (which usually i did not). despite this i am excited to read this as i just finished chapter 1 and there were already some really beautiful passages

definitely making it difficult for me that the narrator often talks to natives and immigrants in broken spanish. there’s also so many idiomatic expression
