This was definitely not the book for me. For different reasons! I guess reading Saramago made me very much ok with lack of punctuation and speech marks (although also on a completely different level of intellect)

See, I didn't mind it in Saramago because he's gone for a full "no grammar" approach. But in this it feels silly. I do feel she's a great writer and manages to write about more than just what she's writing about... But damn I wish she'd use speech marks
