Major Grant Barrett is called back from Afghanistan to care for his nephew and baby niece, when his brother and sister-in-law are murdered in small town of Scarlet Falls. This author combines the elements of romantic suspense so well that you are engaged in the mystery and characters. Grant is helped by nextdoor neighbors, Ellie, her 15 yr old daughter and elderly gran, who he has met on previous visits.
