this is an intense memoir, but some of these unfortunate things that have happened to him are for some reason pillars of the queer experience. it’s interesting to compare and contrast experiences i’ve had with those that page has had, at least in the early years, when things seem so dark and dismal, and looking back on it, knowing that things get much brighter.
