This book is full of fascinating illustrations -- woodcuts or copper engravings from the 18th century – and I am very frustrated that non of them has a caption. No artists, no titles, no specific archives or libraries or volumes where they were first published. No context. I am certain this was deliberate and there must be a reason. Perhaps a good one. But without knowing what it is, I'm frustrated.
