Can confirm that Chapter 19: Dawn and Dusk made me cry on this rereading when it has never done so before. An example of how these books strike us differently at different stages in our life. Once, there was distance in my feelings for the chapter. Now, I feel it in my bones.

When I first read this as a preteen, I missed pretty much all the hints about Anne's pregnancy, until the chapter with the birth. It took rereads to realize there were hints in the lead up, but I don't think I ever understood until now how early those hints began and how subtle at first, before it became downright explicit.

This book is bound to get a ratings upgrade once I finish reading it. I have many fond memories of this book, between Captain Jim, Leslie, and Cornelia.
