I’m sorry but all I can think of is that family guy audio where it’s like I want blue jeans “you’re getting slacks”. Like this kid just wanted a book about Bruce Lee and ofc reading the biography of Malcom X is important especially for a kid who isn’t feeling pride in his culture but it’s like can’t we give the kid both books😅

Also would love a book just on all the racist undertones of the FBI and how it was ultimately founded as a racist organization - if anybody has any recs I’m sat!

Very interesting concept would love to read some works that were (are?) at this store regarding liberation with something other as capitalism as the centric theme. Holistic intersectional liberation is the only way to truly achieve liberation but I’d be super interested in hearing this perspective because I don’t think I’ve heard it much (or at all)

What a guy! Not only is he doing so much for his community he’s also just doing so many cool things like okay yep I’m gonna own a bookstore, ope not enough I’m gonna support the people of my city, ope not enough I’m going to open a reading room let’s all learn, ope still not enough going to publish a news paper, and he JUST KEPT GOING on top of saving hundreds from slavery
