I keep staying up late because I can’t stop reading this book!

I love how Vis has to recognize everything about his home but pretend not to under threat of death if he’s found out.

Can we all agree the Hunger Games thing has really played out, though?

This book has everything in it: dark academia, unique world, rags to riches, unique magic system, fight the system, dystopia in a fantasy setting, awesome powers, rank-climbing, intrigue, exposing corruption, and mysteries galore.

The friend that backstabs Vis...I didn't want to believe it was going to happen, even though I kind of thought it might...ouch.

I’m a big sucker for hidden passageways in castles.

I love getting to go and actually see Vis’s home at about 3/4 the way through the book.

Nobody can complain that nothing happens in this book!

Eidhan went from being a thug to being one of my favorite characters in the whole thing!

I am absolutely blazing through these pages.
