At this point it reminds me a lot of Weather by Jenny Offill, which isn't necessarily a compliment, though the structure works better here than in Weather. I'm interested in learning where the authors split the work in this book, though. Did one just research and chronicle the fun facts while one did their best to wrap a marital drama around it?

it's slow to get through and feels a bit overwritten at times, but i am enjoying all those little snippets on the legend surrounding melville and those who adore him.
