Curiously the pacing for this book comes off as so needlessly fast that it feels like I'm reading a recap, made even more jarring by the fact that both book 1 and 2 were relatively slow

Great series, I highly recommend the new book and series. Book two will be out in March. So far I like it more than the original trilogy!

Good to hear! I really liked book 1 but have sadly had some big gripes with book 2 and especially 3
