Your wife gets shot, she wakes up after surgery and asks you where your daughter is and says that she told her to run from the shooter after she was shot... You then go pick up photos from the pharmacy and stop at the bar after that revelation....a parent's instinct would be "save my child, now!" not, "I think I have time for a few errands." I can see why the tv show changed it. I was enjoying the story until then.

I watched the tv show that was based on this book about a year ago with my husband. So far the show seemed to follow the book pretty well, from my recollection at least, but the book is raunchier. The show was good, but I don't know if I will want to continue with the books. It is interesting reading the book already knowing whose going to be the bad guys.
