I love that the producer's introduction mentions Ang Lee's 'Eat Drink Man Woman', which was just an excellent film and when I saw it I understood why they chose him to direct this adaptation. That he responded to the script by saying: 'I want this film to break people's hearts so badly that they'll still be recovering from it two months later' is such a good tidbit!!

There's some sweet moments and lines that didn't make it into the final cut of the movie, like Elinor saying: "There is a painful difference between the expectation of an unpleasant event and it's final certainty". And also her mom apologizing for neglecting her 😭😭😭

Also, I've owned this book for years, I really need to read it.
Yeah, I mean this movie was my first exposure to Austen, at like 12 and I still have not ever recovered!! I've seen it like 40 times at least, last week the first time in a cinema, and I still cry. every. fucking. time.also, it's gonna be a quick read, so go for it with confidence, I'm already a quarter through!

Eat, Drink, Man, Woman!! 💛💛💛That movie gave me cooking goals that I've never achieved. But still, it was such a pleasure to watch back when food TV and YouTube didn't exist.
