Jezel won his fencing competition and was crowned champion unaware that his win was because of the great mage. They’re supposed to set off to war in a matter of weeks. Yet still we’re in the introductory and investigative but without many clues side of things…

I’m making slow progress with this one. The war is the north is still looming overhead. Jezal is finally fighting his rounds in the fencing match he’s been preparing for since his first ch.

I’m putting this on-hold. I genuinely am not connecting with these characters. It’s a very vibrant and well thought out world, but there’s so many POV’s that the second I get invested in one situation BOOM we’re in a new city with new people.

Halfway point and several of the POV’s are about to intersect. There’s so much going on and war is on the horizon!

Little is happening as all characters and their current circumstances are still being described out. I’m waiting for an intersection of our multiple POV’s.

Ardee, Jezel, Glokta, West, Logen… etc. I’m curious how they’re connected. I’m reminded of Iron Gold with the multi POV’s that put me in a tizzy at the beginning until I got used to the chapter jumps.
