I understand about feeling guilty when a lover gets ill, but he’s a grown man who should be able to look out for himself, and Becky’s been a bitch since you met her, so her opinion doesn’t count.

That’s not the sort of joke a woman with low self-confidence would make. Making Ollie’s dip in self-confidence after a few mishaps less believable.

Ollie had specifically asked Becky to help her with the details of the children’s workshop. The number of parents needed to help and how to make sure they actually show up should have been discussed there. It’s on Becky that she only shared her concerns after the event.

It’s been a week and no further mention of the famous author that might visit the shop. Not from Ollie to her boss, nor from the editor to Ollie.

So Marcus is already doing his workshop at the bookstore, bur Ollie gas not yet mentioned her contact with the author. I guess Marcus was available on very short notice. (I would have planned him after the holidays. A small town bookstore doesn’t need an event every week.)

On a ghost walk everyone is scarred when they see a light that matches the story just told. What? There were no people on the tour that don’t believe in ghosts bur just come for the atmosphere and stories? They wouldn’t be scared, they’d be curious.

Ollie goes around town asking people to an impromptu book club and people say: that sounds great, see you then.
What about: that sounds like a commitment? How often do you expect me to show up from now on?
