Chad added a status update
For those of you commenting on my 2026 reading goal, I'm sorry for not responding. Goodreads notifies me that you commented, but I can't actually see the comments. Way to half-ass remove functionality GR.

Richard Derus ...and don't forget their removal of any way to see the whole list of 2026 joiners unless you catch the notice in your feed.

Chad I did find a work around at least for now, because they less than half-assed this change. If you look on your profile, the comments will show up under recent updates. As a software engineer, GR's development team irks me to no end with their ineptitude.

Juho Pohjalainen I've been having this problem for a while. I check the box, then look at it again and find the box unchecked.

Consider your 2026 goal "like"d since there's no way for me to get to a place I can do it for myself.

Chad That's been a problem for a few years Juho. There is a place in your account settings where you can turn on getting notified for all updates. It's under Account Settings and then Notifications. I check them all under Comments. That one is supposed to supersede the individual review ones but it was broken for a while just like most things on GR.

Sandra They show up under recent updates, until you have enough updates for the reading challenge update to disappear from the list. This half-assed BS is ridiculous, and their dev team should be ashamed.

Chad Yeah, I figured that out. Of course, GR only halfway removed the functionality. The devs don't even know their own systems. It's pathetic.
