Very readable history of the United State's efforts to build nations. So far, it has touched on the Founding, Reconstruction, and nation-building in the Philippines. Main take aways so far: education, sense of connection to the nation, and engaging the people. Suri does a good job of pointing out the flaws, successes, and intentions of Americans during these conflicts. Nation building never ends.
